Signaling cell surface receptors
Our main interest here is the structural biology of cytokine receptors and G protein coupled receptor (GPCR) complexes. These receptor families
constitute the main conduit for information transfer between cells and their environment and we seek to reveal the various mechanisms involved in transmembrane signal instigation through receptor conformational transitions and recruitment of signaling partner proteins. By establishing the structural framework of signal instigation through these receptors we aim to identify novel therapeutic strategies for a variety of human
pathologies.
